Blending H-Start with Fertilizer
- H-Start and fertilizer blends are easy to apply, and don’t require extra steps at seeding.
- When blended with your starter fertilizer, H-Start can be applied in-furrow with the seed, or blended with the rest of the fertility package and banded.
- The blended H-Start and fertilizer can be delivered to the field in one truck and applied through one tank, minimizing in-field delays.
Best Practices
When banding or applying in-furrow, include 25 lb/ac of H-Start in fertilizer blend and application calculations. H-Start can be blended with all high-quality dry fertilizers.
Vertical Blenders
- Load H-Start as close to the blender as possible in the fertilizer system to minimize product handling and breakage.
- Add all dry fertilizer products to the blender first and mix thoroughly.
- Add the required volume of H-Start last and blend for 1-2 minutes to achieve a consistent mixture before loading out.
Volumetric Blenders
Add the required volume of H-Start in sequence with dry fertilizer products.
Product Handling
