H-Start trials were conducted at 11 locations in Alberta and Saskatchewan in 2022. Soil DNA testing was conducted at some sites.
Control plots were seeded with 100% fertilizer rates applied based on soil tests recommendation. H-Start plots had the same amount of fertilizer applied.
H-Start trials were conducted at 9 locations in Alberta and Saskatchewan in 2023. Three of the research centres completed a second-year application on the same sites used in 2022 to understand the effect of accumulated applications of H-Start.

Demonstration field is managed for a high level of productivity with a focus on balanced high rate fertilization to try and achieve maximum yield potential. Field shows that H-Start has a fit on high productivity land with high fertility and management to affect yield potential.
