About Us

HumaTerra is on a mission to improve soil health by increasing the diversity, density, and resilience of soil microbes in agricultural and reclaimed land.

Since 2016, HumaTerra has been on a mission to improve soil health by increasing the diversity, density, and resilience of soil microbes in agricultural and reclaimed land. We work to improve the health of soil in ways that make an immediate, positive impact.

Healthy soil supports healthy plants that grow healthy food. Microorganisms play a key role in health. For people, it is about gut health. As this has become better understood, we have adopted probiotics into our diet to ensure our bodies have the microbes needed to extract nutrients and digest food.

Proof of concept studies with H-Start have showed a consistent positive response in crop trials in northeast Saskatchewan. Initial trials looked at quantitative impact on the crops treated. Over time, qualitative metrics were established and assessed to understand the effect that H-Start was having on soil as well as crops.

Today, HumaTerra employs over 20 people in rural Canada, providing jobs to highly skilled people in places where we want to live. Our head office and plant in Birch Hills, Saskatchewan make up an ultra-modern facility right in the heart of agricultural land that feeds the world.

Our customers are farmers, ranchers, commercial and residential gardeners and land reclamation specialists.

We strive to be industrious and innovative, offering our customers products that provide current value while creating a soil legacy we can all be proud of.
